The Letter

So, my former acting out partner wrote me a letter. He sent it to me at my workplace since he didn't want my husband to catch him emailing me. It was upsetting because he just wanted me to send him pictures. Didn't say he missed me or anything, just that he wanted pictures.

It's upsetting because yes, it's lust, but it feels a lot like love. He didn't even say he missed me or anything. Eye opening.

I guess this is a good thing, seeing how he Really feels about me. Boo. :/

Oh, well. Moving on...

Be thankful
"You should be thankful to have your eyes opened to how he really feels. It's a good thing, even if it hurts. Keep on, moving on, Girlie. You will be happier with yourself in the long run,"

Nice work
"Good job coming back here when the triggers resurfaced. What are the new habits you have formed? Go do those. Who are the people you have talked to about this? Tell them, too.

Just ignore his letter. Burn it and don't respond. If you get another one and can tell it's from him without opening it, return to sender."

Jerk
"I try to be nice....I try to remember that we are all children of God. But that dude is a freaking jerk. I want to punch him for you."

Thanks
"Yeah, I am ignoring the letter. Been working out a lot and going to meetings and learning to cook in order to deal with sober living. But this post week, I isolated a lot... got less effective workouts and slept a lot because I chose to let the letter upset me. So, maybe this week I need to change things up by seeking recovery like I used to seek the drug-- by going to a lot of meetings and working the steps. Oh, well.

Tone
"Girlie,

Your whole tone has been changing. If you don't know how much progress you are making then someone needs to tell you! I hear it. It makes me jealous! :)

When I hit 'speed bumps'/triggers along the way, I get paralyzed for a little while. It messes me all up. I've learned that time and distance from the situation help. "This too shall pass."

You are doing awesome."

"In a decaying environment, the mind is the last redoubt of righteousness, and it must be preserved even amid bombardment by evil stimuli. Christ is competent to see us through, “for in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” As promised, He will make either “a way to escape” or a way “to bear it”."
